I started my blog Ohio Practical Business Law (http://www.OhioPracticalBusinessLaw.com) on Wordpress which is also free and has 2 speeds avilable depending on your level of tech savvy. I've now moved the blog to LexBlog which does cost money, but also offers assistance in integrating the blog with other marketing.
I absolutely agree with you about Google Analytics - it provides terrific information well presented.
